The Attorney General's Office's Asset Recovery Agency team, with the support of the Klungkung District Attorney's Office through the Denpasar State Assets and Auction Service Office successfully auctioned off confiscated state assets in the name of convict I Wayan Candra, with total sales reaching Rp6.04 billion.
The auction was included assets that had been confiscated for the state based on Supreme Court Decision Number 2964 K/Pid.Sus/2015 dated 7 March 2016, which stated that convict I Wayan Candra as Regent of Klungkung for the 2003–2008 period was proven to have committed the crime of corruption and money laundering.
"Accelerating the settlement of confiscated state assets is a strategic step in the context of restoring state finances and optimizing state revenues," said Head of the Attorney General's Office's BPA, Amir Yanto, in a written statement.
He revealed that the auction object that was successfully sold included a vacant plot of land measuring 9,450 m², with a Land Ownership Certificate (SHM) Number 00677, located in Bunga Mekar Village, Nusa Penida District, Klungkung Regency, Bali, and sold for IDR 3.5 billion.
Then, three plots of land including a shophouse building with an area of 270 m², with SHM Numbers 1605, 1612, and 1613, located in the Graha Mahkota Shopping Center, Jalan Teuku Umar, Dauh Puri Kauh Village, West Denpasar District, Denpasar City, Bali, were sold for IDR 2.54 billion.
Thus, he continued, the total sale of these assets amounted to IDR 6.04 billion, with all auction proceeds being deposited into the state treasury.
