Wamena Community Gateway operates to strengthen connectivity in Papua

Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital  Angga Raka Prabowo inaugurated the Wamena Community Gateway as a digital infrastructure operating to strengthen connectivity in Papua and expand internet distribution, especially for Eastern Indonesia.

The presence of the satellite's supporting digital infrastructure is expected to expand access to digital services while addressing the geographical challenges in the mountainous region of Papua.

"Today we are not just inaugurating satellite infrastructure. Today we are affirming that Wamena, the Papua Highlands, and the entire Eastern Indonesia region are a vital part of Indonesia's digital future," said Angga at the inauguration of the Wamena Community Gateway in Jayapura, Papua, on Friday.

According to him, the construction of the Wamena Community Gateway is proof of the government's commitment to providing digital infrastructure to areas with difficult access.

Geographical challenges should not be an obstacle to equitable national digital development, including in matters of digital connectivity.
