Following the release of the Pixel 10 series, Google has again announced that the phones are designed to be able to access WhatsApp instant messaging via satellite connectivity without relying on the internet.
Google announced this capability via a post on the X platform.
According to Google's post, Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and Pixel 10 Pro Fold users will be able to communicate in the form of voice and video calls via WhatsApp by relying on satellite services, especially when there is no internet network at all.
The feature will start working on August 28, 2025, just like the first sale of the Pixel 10 series.
Google certainly provides additional conditions that must be followed for this feature to work, namely that users must use a cellular operator that is participating in the partnership because users may be charged additional fees when using this feature.
More information regarding the carriers involved may be revealed closer to the feature's public release.
A more detailed video also explains that this satellite connectivity feature may experience delays or limitations. However, ideally, smooth satellite communication can be used in outdoor areas where users can clearly see the sky.
Google's Pixel 10 series phones, overall, have similarities in the kitchen, namely the Tensor G5 which is built on a 3 nanometer chip architecture.
The phone comes with Google's latest operating system, Android 16. The combination of this new chip and operating system certainly makes the Pixel 10 series superior in terms of features, including the artificial intelligence features that have been present in previous generations.
