The government is striving to accelerate the implementation of digitalization of public services by utilizing artificial intelligence ( AI ) technology.
The Government Digital Transformation Acceleration Committee, established under Presidential Regulation Number 83 of 2025, will implement President Prabowo Subianto's directive to accelerate the digitalization of public services by utilizing artificial intelligence technology (GovTech AI).
National Economic Council Chairman Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, as committee chairman, led the inaugural meeting of the Government Digital Transformation Acceleration Committee at the National Economic Council Office.
As quoted in a press release from the Ministry of Communication and Digital, he stated that the implementation of AI-based GovTech is projected to significantly increase budget efficiency through bureaucratic efficiency and the digitalization of public services.
"The potential efficiency gains are estimated at Rp350 trillion to Rp400 trillion, which will help the government reduce the budget deficit by 2026," he said.
