The process to renew the SNTE leadership in Southern BC is described as illegal.

La Paz, BCS., October 11.- The process for the change of leadership in section 37 of the National Union of Education Workers ( SNTE ), based in Baja California, is illegal because the call is derived from a regulation that did not arise from a national congress nor was approved by the members , considered Professor Eduardo Moreno, former delegation general secretary.

He said that the regulations for the election of SNTE sectional boards were approved by the Federal Court of Conciliation and Arbitration irregularly, because the leader of the National Executive Committee, Alfonso Cepeda , deceived the authority by arguing that union members approved the document, which never happened.

Moreno said that based on this apocryphal statute, a change of leadership was called for on March 10, 2020, in Section 37, as well as in the Sinaloa, San Luis Potosí, Nuevo León, and Hidalgo sections , processes that were suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. On October 5, the replacement process resumed in Section 37.

He recalled that in the meantime, appeals for provisional suspension of the regulation were filed , which higher courts dismissed. He added that Section 37 even requested a provisional suspension of the regulation, which has not been resolved.
