The PSM vs Persebaya match was postponed due to the riots at the Makassar DPRD.

The fourth week match of the BRI Super League between PSM Makassar hosting Persebaya Surabaya was postponed due to the unsafe security situation following the demonstration riot that occurred at the Makassar City DPRD office.

This postponement was officially announced via the X PSM_Makassar social media account referring to league regulations as stated in ILeague Letter Number 1277/LI-COR/VIII/2025 signed by the President Director of PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB) Ferry Paulus.

The official letter stated that the league reviewed and considered the facts and conditions on the field which were not conducive, so it was decided that the match between PSM Makassar and Persebaya Surabaya was postponed until further notice.

"Referring to Ileague letter number 1277/LI-COR/VIII/2025, it was decided that the match between PSM Makassar vs Persebaya Surabaya on August 31, 2025, was postponed," wrote the official X PSM Makassar account.

PSM Makassar management also confirmed via the club's official social media accounts that ticket information will be announced later.

"We will provide further information regarding tickets," wrote the official statement.

The postponement was due to the riots that broke out. What began as a demonstration in solidarity with the death of an online motorcycle taxi driver in Jakarta escalated into a violent incident, with the crowd burning down the Makassar Regional People's Representative Council office. The incident resulted in three civil servant fatalities.
