Tijuana, July 4.- Lázaro Cárdenas Federal High School (PFLC) and the Tijuana Mental Health Hospital AC signed an agreement this Monday to conduct 1,600 psychometric studies for incoming students.
With this, they seek to detect mental disorders or risky behaviors that endanger their safety and that of other students.
José Bustamante Moreno, general director of the Tijuana Mental Health Hospital, noted that this program is a priority, as the pandemic has triggered a 30 percent increase in disorders such as depression and anxiety in children and adolescents, with a reported increase compared to previous years. Therefore, the institution is focused on prevention and early detection.
"The psychometric study is a software designed by the Hospital, where trained personnel administer the tests on the school's computer equipment. The tests consist of 460 questions. The results are available within three days. The results are 100% confidential and are only given to parents and the school principal," said Bustamante Moreno.
