Tijuana's Public Services Department repairs more than 9,000 streetlights

Tijuana, June 13.- The Tijuana City Council reported that it has repaired and installed a total of 9,178 streetlights in the neighborhoods of the nine municipal boroughs.

"One of Mayor Montserrat Caballero's main goals is to address all those citizen needs that previously went unmet. However, since October 1, we have been working to ensure the population receives the well-being and the city they deserve," said the Secretary of Territorial, Urban, and Environmental Development (Sdtua), Miguel Ángel Bujanda Ruiz.

He indicated that there are 75,896 streetlights in the city, of which 18,863 were turned off. This figure has been reduced by the "Kilometers of Light" program, implemented by the Government Secretariat. However, through the Municipal Public Services Directorate (DSPM), ongoing maintenance and rehabilitation work is being carried out in all of the city's neighborhoods.

As a result of these efforts, 9,178 streetlights have been serviced to date, of which 7,629 were repaired and an additional 1,549 LED lights were installed throughout the city. Additionally, reports of faults have been received and are being addressed as a priority by the department.
