Two violent explosions rock Sanaa following an Israeli bombing of the Haziz power station.

The Israeli occupation army announced that it bombed several targets around the Yemeni capital, Sanaa. In a statement on Sunday, it said, " We targeted energy infrastructure used by the Houthis."

Hebrew media reported that "the Israeli Navy launched an attack on a power station south of the Yemeni capital, Sanaa."

Eyewitnesses told the German Press Agency (dpa) that the two explosions occurred near the Haziz power station, located south of the capital, and confirmed seeing flames rising from the targeted site. No official information has yet been released on the extent of the damage or any human casualties.

For its part, local media outlets, including those affiliated with the Ansar Allah group (Houthis), reported that an electricity station in southern Sana'a was hit by Israeli airstrikes, causing temporary power outages in some areas.

A Civil Defense source confirmed that the airstrike targeted the electricity generators at the Haziz station, completely putting them out of service. The source added that Civil Defense teams began extinguishing the fire that broke out at the station as a result of the bombing.

In his first official comment, a member of the Houthi political bureau, Hazam al-Assad, described the bombing via the X platform as "aggression targeting service facilities and civilian objects such as electricity and water."
