The United Nations (UN) considers the data on hunger in the Gaza Strip provided by the Gaza Ministry of Health to be credible, UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric said on Tuesday (12/8).
"We found that over the years, and as you know, the UN has been in Gaza for quite some time, including since the Hamas takeover of Gaza, the figures released by the Ministry of Health in Gaza, the Palestinian Ministry of Health, are generally reliable," Dujarric said at a press conference.
Earlier on Tuesday morning, the Gaza Health Ministry reported that the death toll from malnutrition amid a food supply crisis in the Gaza Strip had risen to 227, including 103 children.
