Tijuana, August 13.- Tijuana Mayor Montserrat Caballero Ramírez announced that Tijuana is prepared to protect its citizens following the events that occurred Friday night in the city and several municipalities in the state.
The mayor's message is clear: "Citizens can go out with peace of mind. We will not allow Tijuana residents to be harmed, and no criminal group will tell us whether or not to go out on the streets. No one will restrict our freedom. That's why I'm here to speak out," she emphasized.
At the end of the meeting with the state governor, Marina del Pilar Olmeda, military forces, and officials from all three levels of government, he reported that the reopening of businesses had been authorized, an agreement that was also reached with the private sector, and that no mass events would be canceled.
Caballero Ramírez announced that since yesterday, 3,000 National Guard members, along with nearly 2,000 members of the Municipal Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPCM), have been deployed to patrol the entire city in constant operations.
