WhatsApp fixes "zero-click bug" that hacked Apple users





WhatsApp has reportedly fixed a bug or security hole in its iOS and Mac applications that was misused to secretly hack Apple devices belonging to certain individuals.

The instant messaging app owned by Meta stated in its security notice that it has patched the vulnerability officially known as CVE-2025-55177, as reported by TechCrunch , Sunday.

The bug was used in conjunction with a separate bug found in iOS and Mac that Apple fixed last week and codenamed CVE-2025-43300.
