Tijuana, April 26.- A fandango took place at the Tijuana Cultural Center (Cecut) with a poetry reading aloud, in which the governor, the mayor, and Beatriz Gutiérrez, wife of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, participated. In this fandango, high school students joined together to sing the songs of Mario Benedetti, Ida Vitale, and Ruth Vargas, among others.
Beatriz Gutiérrez Müller inaugurated the federal government's "Fandangos for Reading" program, which includes public reading workshops and musical and cultural activities aimed at Mexican children and youth.
The president of the Honorary Council for Historical and Cultural Memory of Mexico was accompanied by Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila, the mayor of Tijuana, Montserrat Caballero, federal government officials, and actors, writers, and regional Mexican singer Edwin Luna.
