For her part, Rosa Icela Rodríguez Velázquez, Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection, said that 85.7 percent of the target population has been vaccinated in a month and a half, as part of the process in six states on the country's northern border, in which she highlighted the progress in Baja California, and particularly Tijuana .
More than 50% of adults vaccinated in Mexico
During the press conference at the National Palace, López-Gatell explained that just over 48 million people have been vaccinated, and although a proportion of the population still has yet to be vaccinated, 53 percent of the adult population is covered .
Supported by a graph he presented at the conference led by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, the undersecretary indicated that the data show that since week 50 of the epidemiological period, the case fatality rate had been 27 percent, which had risen to almost 49 percent by week six of this year.
