Gresini Racing rider Alex Marquez said a podium finish at the San Marino GP was very realistic.
In the race at the Misano Circuit on Sunday, Alex climbed to the third podium after competing closely with Ducati Lenovo rider Marc Marquez and Aprilia rider Marco Bezzecchi.
The Spanish racer had to be satisfied with the third podium after finishing with a time difference of +7.734 seconds from Marc Marquez who won with a time of 41 minutes 20.898 seconds.
"I gave it my all this race. A podium was the best possible result, as both factory riders were a few tenths of a second faster from the start of the weekend, something we couldn't find," Alex said in an official statement on Tuesday.
The racer believes that finishing second in the final standings is the best result for this season, considering that the points gap with Marc has widened.
