An Israeli woman was killed in a "run-over attack" in the northern West Bank, and Hamas confirmed that it was a natural response to the genocide.

The Ministry of Health said in a brief statement that “the young man Mahmoud Hassan Abdel Rahman Akkad (24 years old) was martyred by the bullets of the occupation soldiers near the village of Jit, east of Qalqilya,” noting that the General Authority of Civil Affairs informed it of the martyrdom of the young man Akkad, and the occupation army is still holding his body.

For its part, the Israeli occupation army stated in a statement that, "Following the initial report of an attack in the Jit Junction area, near the Kedumim settlement, security forces killed the perpetrator of the attack by ramming him into the vehicle at the scene."

In this regard, the Hebrew newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported that "an Israeli woman was seriously injured when the army opened fire on the Palestinian driver, (and hit her) by mistake," before Hebrew media later confirmed her death.

In a separate statement, the Israeli army said it was conducting a search of the area where the incident occurred. The Israeli Broadcasting Authority said, "The ramming attack resulted in a young man (whose identity has not been determined) in his twenties sustaining serious head injuries. He was subsequently transferred to Beilinson Hospital (Israel) for treatment."

The authority added: "The army forces present at the scene opened fire at the suspected vehicle and neutralized the perpetrator, a resident of Nablus (a city in the northern West Bank). The forces are currently conducting combing operations in the area," it claimed.

"Heroic operation"

For its part, Hamas affirmed that "the heroic ramming operation comes in response to the ongoing genocide against our people in the Gaza Strip, and the crimes of murder, arrests, Judaization, and settlement in the West Bank and Jerusalem."

The movement added in a statement, "This heroic operation reflects our people's determination to reject annexation and Judaization plans, and proves that resistance will remain as long as the occupation remains, and that attempts at suppression will not succeed in breaking our people's will and their quest for liberation from the occupation."

The movement reiterated its assertion that "the massacres perpetrated by the criminal occupation, its displacement policies, and the daily attacks perpetrated by settlers under the protection of the occupation army, will inevitably result in further popular anger and an escalation of resistance in all its forms."

She called on the Palestinian people everywhere to "close ranks, unify efforts, and ignite the battlefield to confront the occupation and the settlers, as the battlefield is the strongest response to the policies of oppression and genocide."

In parallel with the genocide in Gaza, the Israeli occupation army and settlers escalated their attacks in the West Bank, including occupied Jerusalem, resulting in the deaths of at least 1,046 Palestinians, the injury of approximately 10,160, and the arrest of more than 19,000, according to official Palestinian data.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel, with American support, has been committing genocide in Gaza, leaving 66,005 martyrs and 168,162 injured, most of them children and women, and causing a famine that has claimed the lives of 442 Palestinians, including 147 children.
