Apple Inc., Google, and Samsung Electronics Co. will be the top three smartphone vendors in Japan in the second quarter of 2025, according to a Counterpoint Research report.
Apple remained in the lead with a 49 percent market share in the April–June period. Google was in second place with 11 percent, while Samsung rose to third place with a 10 percent share.
Samsung rose two spots compared to the previous year, when it only controlled 7 percent of the market. Meanwhile, Japan's Sharp ranked fourth with 6 percent, and China's Xiaomi ranked fifth with 5 percent.
