Two American writers, Grady Hendrix and Jennifer Roberson, have officially filed a lawsuit against Apple alleging copyright infringement.
the two accused the tech giant of using their books without permission to train artificial intelligence (AI) models.
In the lawsuit, the authors claim Apple exploited a database of pirated books owned by copyright holders, including their works.
Applebot, Apple's data-gathering engine, is said to be able to access " shadow libraries" containing illegal collections of books.
Hendrix and Roberson, who both have extensive published works, insist Apple never sought compensation for the use of their books.
