Liverpool manager Arne Slot said there is a "chance" that new signing Alexander Isak could make his debut for the Reds in their 2025/2026 Champions League opener against Atletico Madrid at Anfield.
Isak previously missed last week's Premier League match as Liverpool secured a 1-0 win over Burnley at Turf Moor.
At that time, Slot said the Swedish striker was not fully fit because he had not played or trained for a long time.
"There's definitely a chance, because he's in the squad," Slot said in a pre-match press conference, as quoted from Liverpool's official website on Wednesday.
Despite having the opportunity to play, the Dutch coach said Isak would not play the full 90 minutes.
"Then there's the chance he'll play. Normally I'd say 99.9 percent certain, but I can say 100 percent certain he won't play 90 minutes. However, he's part of the squad," said Slot.
Isak joined Liverpool from Newcastle United in a record-breaking Premier League transfer. He arrived in the final minutes of the transfer window, after the Reds had already completed the signings of other star players, including Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, and Hugo Ekitike.
