The Australian men's national basketball team made history by winning their fourth consecutive title, a "four-peat," in the 2025 FIBA U-16 Asia Cup after defeating China 85-58 in the final at MBank Arena in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
According to the FIBA website, quoted in Jakarta on Monday, Australia only held a narrow lead in the first half or the first two quarters.
But they appeared dominant in the third quarter, before exploding with 30 points in the final quarter to secure the victory.
This success makes the Kangaroo Country team the most successful nation in the history of the biennial tournament, having collected four titles, surpassing China's collection of three titles.
They also extended their unbeaten run in the competition to 23 matches.
Luke Roland Paul was the star of the victory with 26 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists. .
Besides Paul, Will Hamilton contributed 16 points and eight rebounds, Henry Browne 14 points and eight rebounds, and Lucas Byrne 11 points and seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, New Zealand won the bronze medal after winning against Japan.
