BC authorities' lack of interest in establishing the Anti-Corruption System is reported.

Tijuana, February 11.- The Baja California government is not interested in combating corruption because, since the integration of the State Anti-Corruption System, there have been anomalies that were reported at the time and left unresolved, warned Ricardo Zurita, former SEA councilor.

In an interview, Ricardo Zurita criticized the fact, for example, that the State Congress has not formalized the appointment of the State Auditor, who is responsible for reviewing public accounts.

Likewise, the legislature has not implemented the procedures for appointing the anti-corruption judge, and there is no one in charge of administering justice, he stressed.

On the other hand, he regretted that Governor Marina del Pilar Avila Olmeda had not sent the shortlist of candidates to the Baja California Congress for the position of Anti-Corruption Prosecutor.

There has been a systematic lack of interest in implementing the State Anti-Corruption System in the state over the past three and a half years, Ricardo Zurita emphasized.

He noted that we are the only state in the country that does not have an anti-corruption magistrate or an anti-corruption prosecutor, and there is only one provisional senior auditor.

Likewise, Ricardo Zurita pointed out that there are also shortcomings in the fight against corruption at the national level, as insufficient tools have been implemented.
