The Central Sulawesi National Road Implementation Agency confirmed that Bridge IV in Palu City has been 100 percent completed.
Head of BPJN Central Sulawesi Bambang S Razak said that physically Bridge IV has been completed and has passed a number of tests using static and dynamic methods.
"The test showed that the bridge's elastic condition was in line with expectations," said Bambang in a written statement received in Palu, Sunday.
He said that the Central Sulawesi BPJN is currently still focused on completing all work packages around Bridge IV.
"The target for completion of Bridge IV is November or December at the latest, so we hope it can be inaugurated in January 2026," he said.
He stated that the entire bridge structure design was designed according to disaster mitigation standards.
"Therefore, several technologies have been implemented that are tailored to the geological potential and disaster risks in Palu City. Therefore, the construction of Bridge IV is not merely about rebuilding road access but also ensuring the bridge's long-term safety," he said.
According to him, Bridge IV was built to replace the bridge that was damaged by the earthquake and tsunami disaster in the area in 2018.
