Call for entries for the "Ada Byron Award" for women technologists is now open.

Tijuana, August 31.- In response to the low presence of women in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), the universities of the Jesuit University System (SUJ), together with the University of Deusto, in Spain, seek to recognize the work of women in technology and science with the Ada Byron Award for Women in Technology, Mexico Chapter.

The call for applications for the third edition of this award was launched at a ceremony held in ITESO's M Auditorium, in the presence of representatives from SUJ universities, allies, and the university community.

Alexander Zatyrka, rector of ITESO, said that joining this initiative is consistent with the university's mission of "comprehensive professional training, the construction and dissemination of knowledge, and the search for solutions that positively transform our environment."

“Our mission is strengthened when we champion equal opportunities for women. The impact of this award transcends the contestants and winners. As a university, we want to contribute to maximizing this impact. At ITESO, we believe that initiatives like the Ada Byron Award for Women in Technology are an invaluable opportunity to advance in this direction,” Zatyrka said.
