OpenAI has launched a new feature called Pulse within ChatGPT that allows users to receive personalized reports generated by artificial intelligence (AI) while they sleep and receive a summary of information tailored to their needs when they wake up in the morning.
Pulse will present five to ten short reports containing news summaries and personal recommendations, with the goal of making ChatGPT the first app users see in the morning, much like social media or news apps.
"Our goal is to bring a level of support that was previously only accessible to a select few, and over time, make it available to everyone. Pulse is the first step in that direction," said Fidji Simo, CEO of OpenAI's Applications Division, as quoted by Tech Crunch on Friday.
The feature is rolling out first to ChatGPT's Pro plan subscribers, which costs US$200 (Rp3.3 million) per month, and will appear as a new tab in the app. OpenAI stated that it plans to expand Pulse access to other users, including Plus subscribers, once the system becomes more efficient.
Pulse displays its reports as cards containing AI-generated text and images. Users can open the full report, ask ChatGPT additional questions, or request a new report. Reports can include news summaries, calendar events, or recommendations based on user preferences.
