Chinese electric commercial vehicle brand Farizon has officially entered the Indonesian market through a partnership with local distributor Arista Group.
The eco-friendly commercial vehicle segment has now become a new market niche in the domestic automotive industry, enlivened by the presence of various other Chinese brands.
"With over 20 years of experience in the Indonesian automotive industry and a strong distribution network, we are ready to provide modern, efficient, reliable, and environmentally friendly commercial vehicles to support business growth in Indonesia," said Arista Group Chairman Hartono Sohor, in his statement.
Farizon Auto International Company CEO Xue Tao said that Indonesia has promising commercial vehicle market potential.
The partnership with Arista is expected to accelerate the adoption of environmentally friendly commercial vehicles in Indonesia, with key advantages in advanced technology, ergonomic design, and operational efficiency.
Arista has yet to announce the Farizon model it will sell in the Indonesian market. However, the company has expressed the potential for local assembly in the future.
Farizon is a commercial vehicle brand under the Geely group, which offers a number of new energy vehicles (NEVs), ranging from heavy trucks, light trucks, micro trucks, light commercial vehicles (LCVs), to buses.
Farizon's arrival further enlivens the ranks of Chinese brands in the eco-friendly commercial vehicle segment. Previously, JAC Motors officially entered the Indonesian market with three models: a double-cab pickup and two light trucks, all of which are electric.
JAC's move follows Wuling, which also recently launched its first electric commercial vehicle, the Mitra EV, last July.
