Covid-19 vaccinations are underway for people ages 40 to 49 in BC.

Tijuana, May 26.- Ninety-seven thousand Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines are expected to arrive on Thursday to complete the vaccination of people between 50 and 59 years old in Mexicali, so a strategy is already being prepared to inoculate the next age group, which would be 40 to 49 years old, the Baja California Health Secretariat announced this Wednesday.

"More than 60,000 vaccines are headed to the state capital, and the rest to Tijuana, to return the doses they previously lent us so we can begin vaccinating those aged 50 to 59 in Mexicali," said Health Secretary Alonso Pérez Rico during his daily briefing on the state's SARS-CoV-2 situation.

He explained that this Wednesday, the only Covid-19 vaccination site will be the new Government Center in Tijuana, located in the East Zone, while the shipment arrives to continue the strategy.

In Baja California, 854,553 people have been vaccinated against the novel coronavirus, of which 363,737 have already completed their full course. Of the total doses administered, 193,148 correspond to adults between the ages of 50 and 59.
