Dewa United Banten FC officially introduced Brazilian right-back Johnathan Pereira as their latest recruit for the 2025/26 BRI Super League.
"I'm very happy to be here, to be part of the Dewa family. Since I arrived, I've seen the organization and structure of the club, and I know I'll have a great experience here," said Johnathan at the Dewa United Arena in Tangerang, as quoted from the club's official website.
The 30-year-old, who previously played for Bulgarian club CSKA 1948, is expected to be a key player in the club's ambition to compete at the top level of Indonesian football.
Johnathan, who stands at 176 cm, brings experience from European and South American competitions.
He emphasized his determination to help Dewa United achieve the highest achievements.
"I came to Dewa to win titles. We have a quality team capable of competing in all competitions, so my main goal is to win the title with Dewa," he said.
The player, whose full name is Johnathan Carlos Pereira, admitted that his adaptation in Indonesia has gone smoothly since the first day.
He was helped by the similarity of climate to Brazil and the presence of a number of his compatriots in the dressing room.
"Having another Brazilian on the team certainly helps, but everyone here is very friendly. My adaptation was easy," he said.
Johnathan also delivered a special message to Dewa United supporters known as Anak Dewa.
"Fans can expect players who give 100 percent in every game, always fight for the team, and never give up. Let's go for the title!" he stressed.
