Former Manchester United and Chelsea midfielder Juan Mata will continue his adventure in Australia by joining Melbourne Victory for the new A-League season.
This is his second consecutive season in Australia after previously playing for Western Sydney Wanderers, where he appeared in 23 games.
"I'm really excited to come to Melbourne and be part of one of the most respected clubs in the league, and to play in front of our amazing members and fans," Mata said in a statement on the club's website on Tuesday.
The 37-year-old also emphasized his motivation to help the team win trophies and contribute to the long-term development of football in Australia.
In addition to his 17-year club career, Mata has a stellar record with the Spanish national team, including winning the 2010 World Cup and the 2012 European Championship.
