Liverpool manager Arne Slot explained why he did not bring Federico Chiesa to the team's second leg of the 2025/2026 Champions League against Galatasaray, as the Italian suffered a minor injury in the last match.
According to Slot, Chiesa sustained the injury during Liverpool's Premier League defeat to Crystal Palace on Saturday. Chiesa's injury wasn't serious, but he was ultimately left out of the squad after failing to complete training before their trip to Turkey.
"He had a minor injury, I think that's the term used in England, in the last game against Palace," Slot said, as quoted from Liverpool's official website, Tuesday, ahead of the Reds' match against Galatasaray at RAMS Park on Wednesday (1/10) at 02.00 WIB.
"He tried today, he was on the pitch from the start but couldn't finish the training session," he added.
