Hamas Political Bureau member Suhail al-Hindi told Al Jazeera that "the Israeli attack on the movement's negotiating team in Doha resulted in the deaths of martyrs, most notably Jihad Labad, Humam Khalil al-Hayya, and a group of their companions."
Al-Hindi added that "the movement's leadership, led by Khalil al-Hayya and Zaher Jabarin, survived the cowardly assassination attempt." He explained that "the bombing occurred during a meeting of the negotiating team to discuss the American proposal." He held the US administration and Israel "responsible for this attack."
On Sunday, US President Donald Trump, an ally of Israel, spoke of a new proposal presented to Hamas to end the war in Gaza.

Earlier on Tuesday, Qatar announced that Israel had launched a "cowardly attack targeting the residential headquarters of several members of Hamas's political bureau in Doha," noting that it had launched an investigation and would not tolerate this reckless Israeli behavior.
Hours earlier, the Israeli military announced that it had attacked the "Hamas leadership" in Doha with its air force, in cooperation with the Shin Bet security service.
With American support, Israel has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, leaving 64,605 Palestinians martyred, 163,319 wounded, most of them children and women, hundreds of thousands displaced, and a famine that has claimed the lives of 399 Palestinians, including 140 children.
