Erdogan: The Gaza massacre is at its most intense, and we cannot remain silent in the face of genocide. Countries' recognition of Palestine is historic.

In a speech delivered at the International Conference for a Peaceful Settlement of the Palestinian Issue and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution at the United Nations headquarters in New York City, President Erdoğan said, "The Palestinian issue today concerns the entire world."

Erdogan congratulated the countries that recognized the State of Palestine and expressed his hope that these steps and initiatives would accelerate the implementation of the two-state solution. He described the recognition of the State of Palestine by a group of countries, including members of the UN Security Council, as a very important and historic decision.

He pointed out that the massacre in Gaza continues at its peak, adding, "A ceasefire must be declared in Gaza, unimpeded access for humanitarian aid must be guaranteed, and Israel must withdraw its forces from the Strip."

He pointed out that the government of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu aims to make the establishment of a Palestinian state impossible and force the Palestinian people to emigrate whenever possible. He added, "The Netanyahu government, which presides over a society sought to be eradicated through the horrors of the Holocaust, is committing genocide against its neighbors, with whom it has shared land and water for thousands of years."

The Turkish president stated that the goal of the growing annexation and occupation policies is clear: to destroy the vision of a two-state solution and displace the Palestinian people, "which can never be allowed." He added, "The international community must stop expansion in the West Bank, impose a fait accompli in East Jerusalem, and stop attempts to destabilize the region."

He added: "We are witnessing cries of 'Freedom for Palestine' in the streets and on social media, in Europe, Asia, America, and Africa, as never before. The following irony should not escape anyone, including our friends here."

He emphasized that standing against Israel's injustice is not only a legal duty, but also a moral responsibility of the international community. He continued, "The international community must halt expansion in the West Bank, the imposition of a fait accompli in East Jerusalem, and attempts to spread instability in the region. Otherwise, there will be no room for discussion of the international order or the defense of universal values . "

Erdogan expressed his hope that the countries that had the courage to recognize the State of Palestine would reinforce this historic position through decisive, concrete, and deterrent steps. He continued, "The time has come for a ceasefire, for humanitarian aid to enter Gaza without hindrance, and for Israel to withdraw its forces from Gaza."

He stressed the need to strengthen Palestinian national capacities, provide them with financial and technical support, and continue the activities of humanitarian organizations such as UNRWA. He affirmed that Turkey will resolutely continue its struggle until the establishment of a Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, and enjoying complete geographical unity.
