Mexico City, December 10.- The Attorney General's Office (FGR) reported on the progress made in the investigation into the accident that occurred in the state of Chiapas, in which 150 people were injured (55 of whom died). The Federal Public Ministry reported that in the incident that occurred at kilometer six of the Tuxtla Gutiérrez-Chiapa de Corzo highway, 98 percent of those traveling in the vehicle were of Guatemalan origin.
Regarding the cargo truck, the unit is registered to Auto Transportes Río Blanco, in the state of Chiapas; the box in which the migrants were traveling is identified as Z Transportes, in the state of Veracruz.
The Attorney General's Office (FGR) announced that "the fatal attack was against a pedestrian bridge on the Chiapa de Corzo-Tuxtla Gutiérrez highway, 12 kilometers from the capital" of Chiapas.
He also mentioned that Human Rights and Attorney General's Office personnel are providing psychological support to the minors and other victims of this incident.
The accident occurred yesterday afternoon and the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office began investigating.
