Gaza: The occupation continues to kill civilians and destroy the Strip amid a severe crisis caused by hunger and lack of medical treatment.

According to eyewitnesses and medical sources, the Israeli attacks targeted the homes and tents of displaced people, as well as civilian gatherings in several areas of the Gaza Strip.

In the Al-Rimal neighborhood, west of Gaza City, the Israeli occupation forces killed six Palestinians, including three children, when they targeted a tent housing displaced persons from the Abu Ghanima family.

In the north of the city, the occupation army killed 10 Palestinians and injured others in an airstrike targeting two homes belonging to the Abu Laila and Abu Qinnas families.

Anadolu Agency's correspondent reported that the situation in Gaza City is extremely dangerous, with artillery and air strikes escalating, while robots and explosive-laden military vehicles are increasingly bombing homes and buildings in the Zeitoun neighborhood in the south of the city, and east of the Birkat al-Sheikh Radwan area in the north. Israeli military vehicles are advancing south of the city, amidst limited advances and heavy gunfire.

The city is witnessing a massive displacement movement, as Rashid Coastal Street is the only road available to the displaced, and has been experiencing heavy traffic congestion since the night hours.

In the central Gaza Strip, a Palestinian was killed while collecting firewood in the town of Al-Maghraqa (central Gaza Strip) as a result of shelling from an Israeli drone that directly targeted him.

The occupation army intensified its artillery bombardment targeting the north and center of the Nuseirat refugee camp. In the southern Gaza Strip, heavy Israeli artillery shelling continued, accompanied by airstrikes targeting various areas in the center of Khan Yunis.

Hunger and deprivation of treatment

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip said on Monday that it was "breathing its last breaths" regarding urgent and life-saving medical needs, warning that many patients and wounded were facing hunger, bombing, and denial of treatment.

The ministry added in a statement: "The current situation regarding essential medicines and medical supplies has exceeded the limits of a crisis to catastrophic levels," adding that medical staff in hospitals "cannot continue to work with depleted stocks of essential medicines and medical supplies."

"We are breathing our last breaths in urgent, life-saving medical needs, and many patients and wounded are facing critical moments with unpredictable outcomes," she said.

She stressed that "the sick and wounded in the Gaza Strip are trapped within a triangle of terror (hunger, bombing, and denial of medical treatment)," and called on all relevant parties to exercise their humanitarian influence to ensure the entry and flow of emergency medical supplies to hospitals.

Destruction of the sector

In this context, the Israeli occupation forces are intensifying their bloody and destructive raids on Gaza City and are investigating the fate of their prisoners in the Palestinian enclave, ahead of an anticipated ground invasion of the city, as part of a war of extermination that has been ongoing for nearly two years.

On Monday, the Hebrew news website Walla quoted unnamed military sources in the southern command of the occupation army as saying that "the scope of the attacks (on Gaza City), which have increased from time to time, was unusual."

The occupation army wants to force as many Palestinian citizens as possible to leave the city before invading and occupying it by land.

The official Israeli Broadcasting Authority said on Monday that the presence of Palestinians in the city "complicates the mission."

She reported that "the army has completed its soldiers' preparations to begin the decisive ground phase of Operation Gideon 2, which involves the incursion (ground invasion) into Gaza City and its occupation."

The commission added that the invasion "is expected to lead to a wave of international condemnation, especially after the failed attack (assassination attempt) on Hamas leaders in Doha last week and the subsequent international criticism."

She continued, "The army has intensified its airstrikes on Gaza City over the past week, primarily targeting residential towers," in addition to what she claimed was Hamas's military infrastructure above and below ground, while "ground forces were positioned on the outskirts of the city, in the Shujaiya and Zeitoun neighborhoods," in preparation for the invasion.

The intense raids on Gaza City, the daily bombing of residential towers, and preparations for a ground invasion come despite Hamas's repeated assertions of its readiness to conclude a comprehensive prisoner exchange agreement and end the war of extermination.

With American support, Israel has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, leaving 64,871 Palestinians dead and 164,610 wounded, most of them children and women, and a famine that has claimed the lives of 422 Palestinians, including 145 children.

For decades, Israel has occupied Palestine and territories in Syria and Lebanon, and refuses to withdraw from these areas and establish an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, based on the pre-1967 borders.
