The plane carrying President Erdoğan and his accompanying delegation took off from Istanbul's Atatürk International Airport at 11:00 local time (GMT+3).
President Erdoğan was seen off at the airport by his deputy, Cevdet Yılmaz, Istanbul Governor Davut Gül, and other government and Justice and Development Party officials.
The Turkish president is accompanied on his visit to Qatar by his wife, Emine Erdoğan, intelligence chief Ibrahim Kalin, senior advisor to the president for foreign policy and security Akif Cagatay Kılıç, and head of the presidential communications directorate, Burhanettin Duran.
