Gaza: Occupation massacres raise death toll amid ongoing starvation policies and warnings of a collapse in the health sector.

The Ministry of Health said in its daily statistical statement that hospitals in the Gaza Strip received 98 martyrs and 385 wounded in the past 24 hours as a result of the ongoing intensive Israeli attacks.

She explained that the death toll among those waiting for humanitarian aid has risen to 2,504 martyrs and more than 18,381 injured since May 27, and that hospitals in the Gaza Strip have received 7 martyrs and 87 injured among those waiting for aid in the past 24 hours.

The ministry stated that the Palestinian death toll since Israel resumed its genocide in Gaza on March 18 has risen to 12,511 martyrs, and 53,656 wounded. It noted that the death toll from malnutrition resulting from Israel's ongoing starvation policy for nearly two years has risen to 432 Palestinians, including 146 children, following four deaths recorded in the past 24 hours.

The ministry noted that since the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) declared famine in Gaza last August, 154 deaths have been recorded, including 31 children.

In the details of Wednesday's attacks, the Israeli occupation army intensified its attacks on Gaza City since the early hours of the morning, resulting in the deaths of 37 Palestinians. In the neighborhoods of the Shati refugee camp, west of the city, five Palestinians were killed and dozens were injured, while a number of others were trapped under the rubble following an Israeli bombardment that targeted civilian homes.

In the al-Rimal neighborhood, west of the city, a Palestinian woman and her child were killed in an Israeli helicopter strike on an apartment in the Habib Building. Around the Baptist Hospital, east of the city, two Palestinians were killed in an Israeli airstrike targeting civilians.

In the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood, north of the city, a Palestinian man and his wife were killed, and others were injured, following an Israeli airstrike on an apartment in a residential building belonging to the al-Zard family. Three others were also killed when a civilian gathering in the same neighborhood was targeted.

Northwest of the city, the occupation army launched a series of violent and intensive raids on the Mukhabarat and Al-Karamah areas, without immediately clear whether these resulted in any casualties. Near the Al-Maliya junction in the Tal Al-Hawa neighborhood, southwest of the city, three Palestinians, including a woman, were killed and others were injured in an Israeli raid on a residential apartment in the Al-Zafer Tower.

In the city center, a number of children were injured in an Israeli helicopter raid on a site near Palestine Stadium, while others were injured in shelling of the Al-Mu'tasim building opposite Al-Tabi'in School on Al-Nafaq Street.

A number of Palestinians were killed and injured in an Israeli bombardment targeting a civilian gathering near the Al-Sahaba Medical Complex. In the Sabra neighborhood, south of the city, Israeli Quadcopter drones dropped bombs on Palestinian homes in the Abu Sharia area, but there was no immediate information on the death toll.

Twenty Palestinians were also killed in Israeli shelling targeting various areas of Gaza City, with no further details available. Throughout the night, the Israeli army continued detonating booby-trapped robots among homes and residential buildings around Street 8, south of the city, and east of the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood.

On Tuesday, the army announced it had "begun a ground invasion of Gaza City." However, field evidence and local sources confirm that no ground incursion has taken place. Instead, the occupation has intensified artillery and air strikes, as well as bombings using booby-trapped robots, to terrorize Palestinians and force them to flee as part of a war of extermination and displacement.

Over the past few weeks, the army has intensified its targeting of residential towers and buildings in Gaza, a policy Palestinian officials say is aimed at forcing Palestinians to flee the city to areas in the southern part of the Strip.

On Wednesday, the Israeli army announced in a statement that it had "opened a temporary transit route via Salah al-Din Street, and will then continue south from Wadi Gaza," while eyewitnesses warned of the dangerous security situation on this street.

In the southern Gaza Strip, Israeli attacks focused on the cities of Khan Yunis and Rafah, killing 11 Palestinians. In the Al-Mawasi area west of Khan Yunis, five Palestinians, including a couple and their child, were killed and others wounded in an Israeli helicopter strike on a tent housing displaced persons in the Al-Qadisiyah camp.

In the same area, a Palestinian child was killed by Israeli tank fire in the Bir 22 neighborhood. Additionally, areas east and central Khan Yunis witnessed heavy artillery shelling and gunfire from Israeli tanks, though it was not immediately clear whether any casualties resulted.

In Rafah, five Palestinians were killed and dozens injured, some critically, when the Israeli army opened fire on aid seekers near the Shakoush area in the city's northwestern neighborhoods.

Beyond the supervision of the United Nations and international relief organizations, Tel Aviv began, on May 27, a mechanism to distribute aid through the so-called "Gaza Humanitarian Relief Foundation," an organization supported by Israel and the United States but rejected by the United Nations. The occupying army deliberately targeted those waiting for aid at distribution sites, killing and wounding thousands.

Fuel crisis threatens hospitals, UNRWA calls for lifting the blockade

In a statement issued today, the Palestinian Ministry of Health said that the Israeli occupation is deliberately thwarting the World Health Organization's attempts to bring fuel into hospitals in Gaza and the north, stressing that "preventing the supply of fuel needed to operate generators means a complete halt to health services."

The ministry added that the crisis threatens to shut down the Al-Sahaba Medical Complex, the General Service Hospital, and the Central Oxygen Station, in addition to halting the operation of ambulances within just days, warning of a "serious health and humanitarian disaster."

For its part, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) renewed its call to lift the Israeli blockade on the Gaza Strip, stressing that nearly seven months have passed since its aid was last allowed into Gaza.

In a blog post on the X platform, the agency said it has "11,000 committed staff working on the ground to provide healthcare, water, sanitation, psychosocial support, and education," but stressed that "supplies are urgently needed," calling for the blockade to be lifted and for it to be allowed to carry out its humanitarian work.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel, with American support, has been committing genocide in Gaza, including killing, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement, ignoring all international calls and orders from the International Court of Justice to halt it.

In addition to the martyrs and wounded, most of whom were children and women, the genocide left more than 9,000 missing, in addition to hundreds of thousands of displaced people.
