Google has officially announced that its Gemini generative artificial intelligence (AI) will be making its way into its smart home system, Google Home .
This isn't surprising, as Gemini now dominates Google's various digital solutions, including the latest Pixel 10 smartphone series.
Phone Arena reported on Wednesday that Gemini will start powering Google Home on October 1, 2025.
Through a post on the X platform via the @madebygoogle account, Google invites users to update their smart home system so that when Gemini is launched, users can immediately use it either through their speakers or smart screens.
The integration of Gemini services into Google's smart home system has actually been long-awaited, as Google first hinted at this move at its I/O conference in May 2025.
Through the event, Google stated that Gemini allows users of its smart home system to ask various questions about the history of Nest cameras, Google's smart home products. Furthermore, Gemini is also believed to be able to suggest automations and quickly set them up with voice commands.
