Gresini Racing is targeting continued competition at the top of MotoGP in the 2026 season, as Alex Marquez will be using a factory-spec Ducati motorcycle starting next year.
The Italian satellite team emphasized that its main focus is maintaining consistent performance and remaining among the elite teams, regardless of their final position in the standings.
"Being in second place in the rider and team standings, right behind Marc, is like winning this year's world championship. Marc is Marc, and anyone who finishes second is a huge achievement," said Gresini Racing Marketing and Commercial Director Carlo Merlini in Jakarta on Tuesday.
Merlini added that with their riders, Alex Marquez and Fermin Aldeguer, the team is confident it will still be a serious contender to compete.
"We will try hard to be in the same position and maybe challenge Marc, Pecco, or whoever is the contender in 2026 a few more times," he said.
