Tijuana, July 11.- Tijuana, Mexico's most populous municipality in 2020 according to the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI), was officially founded on July 11, 1889, and today marks its 135th anniversary.
Tijuana's festivities began with the traditional "Mañanitas" (Morning Songs) and a popular festival attended by more than a thousand people—including municipal officials, civil society organizations, and dozens of Tijuana families—at Teniente Guerrero Park.
Tijuana, located in the northwest corner of Mexico, is a vibrant and dynamic city known for its multiculturalism and its role as one of the main intersections between Mexico and the United States. With a population exceeding 1.9 million, it is the largest city in Baja California and one of the most important in the border region.
