Miscarriage is a condition that occurs spontaneously before 20 weeks of pregnancy, which can have a physical and psychological impact on women.
As reported by Channel News Asia on Thursday, Dr. Sanveen Kang, a clinical psychologist and founder of Psych Connect, said that the causes of miscarriage are often beyond a woman's control but can leave her feeling guilty, sad, empty, and even anxious.
"Trying again after a miscarriage can be both a promising and frightening decision. For many women, the desire to grow their family is accompanied by anxiety, grief, and a deep fear of losing again," explains Dr. Kang.
After a miscarriage, menstrual periods usually return to normal within about 4-6 weeks, or may take a little longer depending on each woman's condition.
