US technology company IBM recently launched an open-source artificial intelligence (AI) model with the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) that can be accessed through the Hugging Face platform and used for weather and climate applications.
"By releasing this AI model on Hugging Face, we are opening access for scientists, business people, and policymakers to build on a shared foundation to raise climate awareness," said IBM Indonesia President Director Roy Kosasih in a statement on Tuesday.
The AI, named Surya, was created to understand high-resolution solar observation data to predict how solar activity will affect Earth and space technology.
