Tijuana, December 18. Two of the six beaches in the country that are unsuitable for bathers due to high pollution levels are located in Baja California: one in Tijuana and the other in Rosarito .
The Federal Commission for the Protection Against Sanitary Risks ( Cofepris ) warned the public that Tijuana and Rosarito 1 beaches in that municipality registered more than 200 enterococci per 100 millimeters; this was the result of analyses of 254 beaches across the country.
In a press release, it reported that the others are: Escolleras and Linda beaches in the tourist destination of Tapachula, Chiapas; Olas Altas in Mazatlán, Sinaloa; and El Bosque in Centla, Tabasco.
