Indonesian National Futsal Team Head Coach Hector Souto said the Indonesian Futsal Federation is building a continuous bridge of players from the senior national team down to the junior high school level to prepare for long-term achievement targets.
"My promise to the federation was to leave a legacy, and we are in the process of doing that. As Michael said, we are building a bridge from the senior national team to the senior B team, to the U19 and U16 teams, and hopefully to the younger generation," Hector told the media in Jakarta on Wednesday.
The bridge that the Indonesian National Futsal Team Technical Director referred to was to equalize the management and training techniques applied by the senior national futsal team down to the high school and junior high school levels.
"Our engine is running at 100 percent. Which means we've reached the peak of our potential," said the Spanish coach.
Regarding the performance of the national futsal team, Hector assessed it positively, where Indonesia only lost to Argentina after recording consecutive wins.
"We're doing our part. The senior national team's job is to inspire the younger generation to train. High school and junior high school students are our future," said Hector, who led the Indonesian national futsal team to the AFF Futsal Championship last year.
