The decision came after two Israelis were killed in a shooting attack at the King Hussein (Allenby) crossing on the Jordanian-Israeli border earlier today, according to the Israeli Broadcasting Authority.
The Broadcasting Authority quoted an unnamed Israeli security source as saying, "The shooting incident will affect aid transported from Jordan to Gaza, as Tel Aviv will halt the flow of aid from the Allenby Bridge crossing to the Gaza Strip until further notice."
Earlier, the Israeli ambulance service, Magen David Adom, reported that two men had been shot near the Allenby Bridge crossing. Channel 12 later reported that the men had died of their wounds.
Israeli Army Radio also reported that the attacker was driving an aid truck en route to Gaza and was shot and wounded, but his fate has not been determined. According to the Israeli security source, the aid convoy was scheduled to arrive in Gaza on Friday morning.

Since March 2, Israel has continued to close the crossings into Gaza, preventing the entry of any food or humanitarian aid. This has exacerbated the famine in the Strip, despite the backlog of aid trucks at its borders.
From time to time, Israel allows the passage of very limited aid, which is insufficient to meet needs, while many trucks are subject to robbery by gangs that the Gaza government claims are protected by Israel.
According to a statement issued by the Government Media Office in Gaza, only 4,543 aid trucks entered the Strip between July 27 and September 16, out of a planned 30,000. This represents only about 15% of the humanitarian needs of more than 2.4 million Palestinians.
With American support, Israel has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, leaving 65,141 Palestinians dead and 165,925 injured, most of them children and women, and causing a famine that has claimed the lives of 435 Palestinians, including 147 children.
