The Director of Digital Infrastructure Strategy and Policy at the Ministry of Digital Communications, Denny Setiawan, said the increasing number of .id (dot id) domain users could bring economic potential and new sources of income for digital creators.
"This could potentially generate economic benefits, income. I don't know the details. But the important thing is that it creates an ecosystem and creates jobs," Denny said when met by the media at the launch of .idFest 2025.
Denny said that selling .id domains could be a new source of income for creative young people as digital creators by preparing attractive websites.
This ecosystem will also further enhance Indonesia's reputation internationally, drawing global attention to Indonesia.
He also commended PANDI for achieving 1.3 million users for the .id domain. This demonstrates the growing consumer trust in the quality of Indonesian-made domains.
"We trust .id more than other domains. This is supported by PANDI's collaboration with our partners in the ecosystem," he said.
