Mexicali, September 10 The Baja California government closed traffic on the Tijuana-Mexicali highway at La Rumorosa.
The suspension of the road was carried out on Saturday morning due to a landslide , reported the Public Trust for the Administration of Funds and Investment of the Centinela-La Rumorosa Highway Section or La Rumorosa Administrative Trust (FIARUM), a state-owned company that manages the resources generated by the highway toll.
At around 9 a.m., FIARUM closed the toll booths on the descending section of the highway , heading towards Mexicali, where rocks fell onto the asphalt due to the rains caused by Storm Kay .
This road remained closed to drivers from Friday morning until 8 p.m. due to a rock slide that impeded vehicular traffic.
FIARUM reported that work is underway to resolve this incident and announced that the uphill section of the highway, heading toward Tijuana, remains open to traffic.
