Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James has confirmed that he is not yet thinking about retirement, even though he will turn 41 in December.
According to the NBA website, quoted in Jakarta on Tuesday, James became the first player in NBA history to appear in 23 seasons.
"I'm happy to have the opportunity to play again this season, no matter how it goes. I'm very invested, because I don't know when the end will come," he said.
That milestone will be recorded when he takes on the Golden State Warriors in the regular season opener on October 21.
The owner of four NBA championship rings and the league's all-time leading scorer returned to Lakers preseason practice on Monday (29/9).
He looked in good spirits after a summer of intense training, and spent his free time enjoying his new hobby of golf.
This season, James will play a full season alongside another Lakers superstar, Luka Doncic, who arrived in the trade for Anthony Davis.
The Lakers will also be strengthened by several players after bringing in Deandre Ayton, Marcus Smart, and Jake LaRavia.
