Mexico City, June 16.— Baja California Governor-elect Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda signed a letter of commitment to the Fourth Transformation during a meeting with Mario Delgado Carrillo, the national leader of Morena, and the other 10 Morena members who won governorships in the June 6 elections.
It was a "Meeting with Governors-Elect of Morena" in which they signed the "Commitment Letter to the Fourth Transformation and the People of Mexico," which includes agreements that newly elected Morena governors must respect, such as not lying, stealing, or betraying, "and promoting democracy that reduces inequalities and prioritizes the poor in public administration."
According to a press release, Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, in particular, pledged "to fight for true equality between men and women, against violence against women and any form of discrimination based on gender, race, ethnic origin, religion, sexual orientation, or social, economic, political, or cultural status."
Another commitment was to govern with "republican austerity and eradicate corruption and privileges." He asserted that this will be a new way of doing politics "that combats all practices that hinder democracy, while eliminating repression as an instrument of government."
