Mario Iván Martínez celebrates fifteen years of being an ambassador of the “lucid and perennial” work of the unforgettable singer-songwriter Francisco Gabilondo Soler , Cri-Cri.
With the support of the publishing house founded by the unforgettable singer-songwriter from Orizaba for the protection of his heritage and now chaired by his youngest son, Tiburcio Gabilondo, the revival of his one-man show, Discovering Cri-Cri, was completed at the Hidalgo Theater . The show was first performed at the Siqueiros Cultural Poliforum in 2007.
The production highlights the rich and varied literary and musical output of the Singing Cricket. For fifteen years, the Ariel Award winner for Like Water for Chocolate has toured much of the country with the show, recorded three albums, and staged a second theatrical production for three actors, Let Them Leave All Their Dreams Open.
The Discovering Cri-Cri season is highlighted by the unveiling of a commemorative plaque this Sunday, September 25 at 1:00 p.m., with the presence of Tiburcio Gabilondo and the host Janett Arceo, who will be sponsors at the performance that will be offered at the Historic Center venue , behind the Palacio de Bellas Artes.
