Meta has introduced a number of new features to its community-based fact-checking system Community Notes, which launched in the United States earlier this year.
users will now receive notifications when they interact with posts on Facebook, Instagram, or Threads that receive a Community Note.
Additionally, users can submit note requests or rate notes if they find them helpful.
Meta said that these features are still in the testing phase.
Meta Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) Guy Rosen said that since Community Notes launched, more than 70,000 contributors have written 15,000 notes and only 6 percent of them have been published.
For a market as large as the United States, which has hundreds of millions of cross-platform users, this figure is considered relatively small.
