The government welcomes the commitment of platform provider Roblox to support child protection efforts in the digital space.
Roblox has submitted an official letter to the Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Digital to affirm its commitment to protecting children in the digital space.
"We appreciate Roblox's move to affirm their willingness to comply with Indonesian regulations," said Indonesian Minister of Communication and Digital Meutya Hafid in a press statement in Jakarta on Thursday.
"This shows that constructive dialogue can produce concrete steps to protect Indonesian children while strengthening the digital creative industry ecosystem," he added.
In a letter sent following a meeting between its representatives and the Indonesian Minister of Communication and Digital in August 2025, Roblox expressed its readiness to collaborate with the Indonesian Game Rating System (IGRS) in reviewing game classifications and making adjustments if necessary.
In addition to conveying its commitment to comply with applicable regulations in Indonesia, Roblox in its letter shared the results of a study on economic impact that highlights the company's contribution to the growth of local game developers in Indonesia.
The government is committed to establishing an open dialogue with global digital platform providers so that Indonesia can become not only a market but also a hub for digital talent growth and a safe, inclusive, and productive online space for the community.
